Who We Are
Founded by writer and urban policy advocate, Alicia Pederson, Ph.D., and sustainable architect Alina Tompert, AIA, Hortus in Urbe is dedicated to bringing resilient, family-friendly urban development to cities nationwide.
Rooted in the Garden City of Chicago, we seek to bring European-style courtyard buildings and perimeter blocks to US cities, helping American municipalities benefit from the time-tested models of safe, resilient, and family-friendly urban living
